Ceramic Crowns
Restore the Strength, Function, and Beauty of Your Smile
When a tooth has been significantly damaged or weakened, a ceramic crown can help restore its strength, function, and appearance.
A dental crown is a custom-made restoration that fits over the remaining portion of a tooth, helping protect it and restore its natural shape. Ceramic crowns can also be placed over dental implants or used to improve the appearance of severely discolored or damaged teeth.
At Advanced Dentistry of Fairfield County, Dr. Rapp will evaluate your tooth and recommend the most appropriate treatment based on your individual needs.

When Might You Need a Ceramic Crown?
A crown is a technique used in dental restoration when a remaining tooth structure or implant is completely encircled by a “tooth-like” ceramic crown. A crown is recommended for patients who do not have enough healthy tooth structure remaining to support a filling. Crowns are typically made from either ceramic or porcelain material.
If tooth decay becomes severe enough that large portions of a tooth must be removed, crowns are often used to restore both the function and appearance of the decayed tooth. Crowns can be used for purely aesthetic reasons as well when staining and discoloration in teeth become so severe that other techniques may not be effective.
